IB English and Theatre Teacher, Brussels

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated IB English and Theatre Teacher to join our team on a temporary basis to cover a sick leave. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive environment, delivering high-quality education to students aged 11 and above. The position is set to commence in January 2026 or as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in English and Theatre in alignment with the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) curriculum.
  • Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement interdisciplinary projects and activities.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Uphold the school’s values and commitment to excellence in education.

Qualifications

  • A recognized teaching qualification in English and/or Theatre.
  • Experience teaching the IB curriculum (IBDP/MYP) is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to teach students aged 11 and above.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to teach in English.
  • EU citizenship or the right to work in Belgium is mandatory.

Day-to-Day

  • Plan and deliver lessons that align with the IB curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Engage students in creative and interactive learning experiences in both English and Theatre.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the school’s academic community.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related activities.
