We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Spanish Teacher to join our team and contribute to the academic success of our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching Spanish, particularly within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective Spanish lessons in alignment with the IB Diploma Programme curriculum.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and alignment with the IB standards and school-wide goals.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in language instruction and IB teaching methodologies.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student success and address any concerns.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and initiatives that promote language learning and cultural appreciation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Teaching certification or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Spanish, with a strong preference for experience in the IB Diploma Programme.
  • In-depth knowledge of the IB curriculum and assessment criteria.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into the classroom to enhance learning.

Day-to-Day

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Spanish lessons that align with the IB Diploma Programme.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students as needed to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.
  • Stay informed about developments in the IB curriculum and language education.
